We are pleased to announce an opening for the role of Assistant Director of Strategic Programs and Education at the National Women’s History Museum. In this pivotal position, you will lead and oversee a range of innovative educational programs and strategic initiatives, including the development of exhibitions, designed to engage diverse audiences both virtually and in person. With a strong commitment to women's history education, you will collaborate with internal and external partners to create impactful programs, develop exhibitions, and manage education team members to further the Museum’s mission.
The position is based in Washington, D.C., but remote/virtual candidates are welcome with the understanding that domestic travel will be necessary. The successful applicant must have access to a reliable internet connection, and occasional travel to the Museum’s administrative offices in Washington, D.C., and other locations will be required.

Starting Pay Range: $95,000 - $115,000, commensurate with experience

Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Strategic Programs and Education provides strategic program management and day-to-day oversight of educational initiatives aimed at engaging diverse audiences, including students, educators, families, and community groups both virtually and in person. The Assistant Director does this work in accordance with the vision of the department and the organization’s strategic direction. Current strategic initiatives include directing the K-12 education program and resource portfolio, directing the women's history education research portfolio, and managing the department's contributions to larger strategic public programs as relevant. The Assistant Director also contributes to other initiatives to confirm cohesion with departmental and strategic priorities, such as the exhibitions portfolio. Domestic travel will be required for exhibitions and departmental teamwork. This role is ideal for a dynamic individual who thrives at the intersection of education, history, and digital innovation. Reporting to the Vice President of Education, the Assistant Director undertakes departmental administrative duties and is committed to creating inclusive and accessible learning experiences for all.
