AGL is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to work in Fort Bragg, NC. The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in the execution and oversight of a U.S. Army contract, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, timelines, and quality standards. This role involves day-to-day coordination of personnel, subcontractors, logistics, and documentation while ensuring adherence to all federal, DoD, and company policies. Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day activities for a moderately complex Technical or non-Technical project.
  • Manages the administrative/operational leadership of a project within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
  • Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • May conduct performance/project analyses to benefit future/other projects/missions/programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
  • Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
  • Typically requires BA and 5-7 years.

Contract Support & Execution

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day execution of contract requirements in support of U.S. Army operations.

  • Coordinate scheduling, staffing, and material needs to meet project milestones.

  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with contractual obligations, SOWs (Statements of Work), and Army regulations.

Project Coordination

  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones using project management tools.

  • Prepare and submit reports, daily logs, and updates to the Project Manager and Army COR (Contracting Officer’s Representative).

  • Maintain documentation for compliance audits and inspections.

Personnel & Subcontractor Management

  • Support the hiring, onboarding, and supervision of site personnel and subcontractors.

  • Ensure all staff meet required qualifications, certifications, and security clearance levels.

  • Monitor labor hours, timesheets, and resource allocations.

Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce all federal, DoD, OSHA, and site-specific safety regulations.

  • Assist in Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) processes.

  • Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.

Communication & Liaison

  • Serve as a point of contact between field staff, the Project Manager, and Army personnel.

  • Attend site meetings, briefings, and inspections as needed.

  • Support coordination with logistics, procurement, finance, and other departments.


Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience supporting government contracts or project management in military/DoD environments.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, contract administration, and Army operations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Proficiency in MS Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (if required by contract).
  • Valid driver’s license: ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or CAPM certification. OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with LOGCAP, USACE, or AMC contracts.
  • 20+ years military experience or prior work with the U.S. Army.
