The primary responsibility of the Pharmacist in Charge, Cell and Gene and other specialties i.e.. oncology, rare/orphaned... Pharmacy is to provide leadership and oversight for all daily operations of their pharmacy location, including oversight of pharmacy staff, clinical support to patients, and ensuring that all prescriptions are dispensed in accordance with state, federal and board of pharmacy laws. This role also has the responsibility for managing inventory, fulfillment, and distribution activities at their pharmacy location. This includes the proactive monitoring of inventory and clinical supplies to ensure adequate supplies of medications are on-hand while meeting budgetary parameters. Key Responsibilities include Leadership: instilling a culture of exceeding patient, provider and client expectations, promoting collaboration, overseeing prescriptions and patient care team, coaching and mentoring staff, ensuring compliance with pharmacy and nursing regulations, and overseeing clinical activities such as patient counseling, medication profile management, adverse event monitoring, and drug information provision. Clinical duties include comprehensive pharmacotherapy review, patient counseling, REMS training compliance, coordination with clinicians and caregivers, on-call coverage, prescription processing, and clinical management model implementation. Operations responsibilities include adherence to government payer policies, dispensing medications per physician orders and laws, compliance with pharmacy operations policies, controlled substances regulations, prescription accuracy verification, prior authorization facilitation, patient chart audits, patient education, adverse event reporting, and oversight of Cell and Gene dispensing processes. Professional duties include meeting CE requirements, supporting staff development, continuous learning in pharmacy oncology, and attending conferences. Minimum requirements are a degree or equivalent with 4+ years relevant experience, graduation from an accredited pharmacy school, current unrestricted pharmacy license in Kentucky, and preferably multistate licensure. Critical skills include 4+ years post-graduate pharmacy operations and management experience, previous PIC experience, excellent communication, computer and organizational skills, and knowledge of sterile technique. The role is onsite in Shepherdsville, KY, Monday through Friday in a general office environment.
