Job Description

The CPM Analyst will assist Client Portfolio Managers (CPMs) by providing analytical support and interpretation of investment results to be used by the CPMs, as well as additional tasks related to client support. Along with the CPMs, key internal relationships will be with portfolio managers, sales and distribution team members, and product management/marketing. A deep understanding of asset management and an ability to form positive working relationships with teams and business partners. This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO office. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, now or in the future. Responsibilities include developing and demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the investment strategies led within the discipline(s); crafting analysis and interpreting results to communicate investment rationale, explain performance and provide market perspective; building relationships with business partners across many departments including investment management, distribution, investment solutions, and operations; analyzing and interpreting data about investment strategies relative to significant benchmarks, competitors and economic conditions for internal and external audiences; participating in the design, content, and updates of investment presentations and materials; assisting in the accumulation or retention of assets by building investment reviews and assisting in the preparation of presentations used for clients or prospects in various settings; performing in-depth quality control review of data and content for relevance and consistency; supporting CPMs by collaborating on assignments to prove financial market theories or market cycles; responding to requests for data, research and analysis from sales channels; conducting ad hoc duties related to the subject area or investment management department; responding to RFPs pertaining to the investment field and positioning of investment products; staying current with analytical risk tools, industry events/developments and literature; evaluating research provided by outside entities; and seeing opportunities for operational improvement to build efficiencies and improve production output. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in business or finance or equivalent experience, CFA preferred, minimum three years of investment or finance experience preferred, strong data manipulation and technical skills, strong analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and quantitative proficiency, proficiency with Microsoft applications especially Excel, experience with vendor applications and analytical tools preferred (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, eVestment Alliance, Morningstar), experience with data visualization and analytical tools preferred (e.g., Tableau, Python, Seismic, VBA), coordination skills with attention to detail and accuracy, and demonstration of American Century Investments Winning Behaviors.
