Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. At Floor & Decor Designers are responsible for meeting with customers, listening to their project needs, educating them on all that is required for their project, and building a creative design concept that incorporates the customers personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Eligibility Requirements include a minimum of one year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience, degree in Design is a plus, knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus, proficiency in basic mathematical skills, self-motivation and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office suite, and for internal candidates, 12 months of experience in a design consultant position. Essential Functions include greeting store customers, scheduling design appointments, providing tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for residential and commercial projects, designing and selling complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions, managing multiple customer projects with accuracy and timeliness, collaborating with store leadership, supporting company initiatives, engaging in current and emerging design trends, and utilizing design applications such as Salesforce and proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler. Working conditions include limited travel by car and exposure to a warehouse environment with moderate to noisy noise levels. Physical requirements include medium work with ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and other physical activities. Store and pickup hours are provided.
