Job Description

Brunel is recruiting Field Operators to work with our major oil and gas client in Spring, TX for initially 1 year contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor wells and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks as an Equipment Care Technician.
  • Coordinate, control, and monitor maintenance activities (corrective, predictive, preventive).
  • Ensure wellhead and surface equipment are in proper working condition, especially prior to Wellwork operations.
  • Assist and support Wellwork intervention operations when required.
  • Meet the daily operational plan.
  • Reduce equipment failure.
  • Ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Actively participate in daily toolbox meetings and scheduled safety meetings.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, health, environmental, and security practices.
  • Participate in emergency response activities and understand emergency preparedness procedures.
  • Report alarms, emergency shutdown systems, incidents, and unsafe conditions according to internal guidelines.
  • Escalate awareness of incidents as per Incident Reporting Guidelines.
  • Continuously monitor equipment and well performance; implement corrective/optimization actions.
  • Take and test product samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain accurate logbook entries of operational events, anomalies, or deviations.
  • Provide detailed, accurate handover information during shift changes.
  • Ensure clear communication within the work team for effective issue resolution.
  • Keep Operations Shift Supervisor informed and consulted about operational activities.
  • Provide basic facts on well production problems, current production rates, and well condition.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostics before requesting Wellwork interventions.

Skills and qualification:

  • Prior work experience as a Field Technician.
  • Experience with upstream production from the wellhead.
  • Experience with process operations (non-refinery).
  • Onshore field experience at locations such as West Texas, New Mexico, Bakken (ND), and Oklahoma.
  • Experience with midstream facilities (e.g., tank batteries, compressor stations).
  • Strong understanding of pipeline operations and upstream production processes.
  • Familiarity with operational safety and management tools.
  • Knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures and relevant regulations.
  • Awareness of project philosophy, design specifications, and commercial agreements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High aptitude for safety and environmental practices and leadership.
