Role Overview:

Sodexo is seeking a Food Production Manager 3 for their Culinary Center in Brooklyn, NY

 

The Sodexo Culinary Center / Cook Chill Building services New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H) , providing 15,000 meals daily to 11 acute care facilities, 4 long-term care locations, and 1 senior center. 

 

The Food Production Manager 3 at this location will oversee food production, quality, safety, sanitation, and be responsible for monitoring and directing daily production via coordinating managers, cooks, and food service aides. The process used is designed to ensure food is prepped, cooked, and cooled following all health code guidelines while simultaneously meeting and exceeding established quality standards. As Sodexo managers we are required to adhere to a zero-harm safety mindset which is achieved through established policies and procedures with emphasis on safe work programs. 

 

What You'll Do:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily food production and ensure compliance with health codes and quality standards.

  • Maintain a zero-harm safety mindset and enforce safe work programs.

  • Manage purchasing, inventory control, and stock monitoring using TMC.

  • Ensure hygiene, sanitation, and compliance with opening/closing procedures.

  • Oversee up to 35 employees in a refrigerated environment (will be provided with protective clothing).

  • Ensure compliance with temperature control and sanitation regulations; ServSafe required upon hire.

  • Work with union employees; experience with unions preferred.

  • Foster teamwork and ensure efficient operations.

  • High-volume food production experience.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.

  • Union experience preferred.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
