Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing General Medical Provider , and the role is flexible in terms of credentials — it may be filled by an MD, DO, NP, or PA .

Importantly, this position does not require the provider to have an office located in Victoria, TX. However, we do require that the provider be located within 50 miles of Victoria, with a strong preference for candidates within 25 miles to ensure accessibility and potential for occasional in-person support if needed.

The physician assistant diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries and delivers preventive and therapeutic treatment of Veteran patient primary care needs, including chronic disease management through routine history and physical examination testing and non-invasive treatment. The Physician Assistants should utilize strong communication with fellow team members to ensure that expectations of Patient Aligned Care Team metrics are met. Physician Assistants work collaboratively with their supervising physician following individual state licensing requirements.

  • Management of a subsection of primary care patients, the subsection may be defined either by a disease status (e.g. spinal cord injury, narcotic use patients), or demographic status (women veterans, OIF/OEF veterans, employees etc.).
  • Participation in special projects pertinent to assigned section may be necessary as the projects become available through strategic or other initiatives.
  • Physician may be assigned duty as a supervising or collaborating physician for one or more mid-level providers.
  • Physicians are expected to provide clinical oversight and review the care provided by midlevel practitioners.
  • Physicians are required to supervise and teach residents and students from affiliated medical schools and to supervise midlevel providers.
  • Providers will need to act as surrogates for the patients of their colleagues, when one or more of their colleagues are on leave.
Requirements:

PA Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BPAS or a related field) required. Master’s degree (MPAS) preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited program for physician assistants, including preceptorship.
  • Certification by applicable professional organization.
  • Minimum five-years of combined approved academic training and healthcare experience required, or as VA contractual requirements specify. Experience as a physician assistant must be in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting, government healthcare environment preferred. Specific requirements could vary based on individual VA contract.
  • Must be credentialed and remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
  • Must comply with and maintain all requirements for a valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment, or in any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (must be renewed periodically as specified by the certifying agency – AHA valid for two years, e.g.) and in ACLS as specified by individual VAMC contract.
  • Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Energetic and optimistic demeanor.
  • Strong service mentality and a focus on achieving all aspects of defined service standards.
  • This is considered a safety sensitive position.

NP Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and graduate of an accredited program for nurse practitioner (MSN required), including preceptorship

• Certification by applicable professional organization

• Minimum one-year clinical experience (three years preferred) as a CRNP within the last 4 years in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting; government healthcare environment preferred. Specific requirements could vary based on individual VA contract.

• Must be credentialed and remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).

• Must comply with and maintain all requirements for a valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment, or in any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements.

MD/DO Job Requirements

  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training
