Metal Building Erector Job Summary –

Iron Workers Local 8 is hiring Metal Building Erectors. If you live in the Fox Valley or surrounding Areas apply today!

We are a Union Organization looking for qualified Metal Building Erectors in the local Fox Valley area, to help us lead our elite organization and to fulfill jobs for our Signatory Contractors. We offer a 2-year paid Apprenticeship, as well as Training courses. We are looking to fulfill all Metal Building Erector positions with people that are skilled and have/are reliable, strong work ethic, desire for advancement opportunities.

Job Summary – Working with steel siding, roofing and lining. You will be working on Pre-Engineered Buildings/Metal Buildings, bolting up the structure and erecting steel beams.

Metal Building Erector Responsibilities –

• Use of tools and electric hand tools
• Must be able to take direction from crew members and be able to work in a crew environment
• Working safe minded
• Be hands on and attentive
• Be on time and reliable
• Showing up to jobsite ready to work

Metal Building Erector Requirements –

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Must have general construction experience or general knowledge of construction
• Must have some knowledge of construction equipment
• Must know how to use hand tools and electric hand tools.
• Must be comfortable with heights.
• Must be able to work outside - weather conditions depending
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs or more depending on materials
• Must be able to travel locally to Job sites
• Must take training/school (provided by the Union, get trained by our elite Instructors)
• Must provide general construction tools, such as,
• Crescent wrench
• Hammer
• Tape Measure
• Tool Belt
