Compensation : $45–65 per hour, commensurate with experience

A private family based in State College, Pennsylvania , is seeking a part-time Personal Chef to support their household from Friday to Monday or Thursday to Sunday , depending on the family’s residency schedule. The ideal candidate is a highly capable, flexible, and health-conscious culinary professional who is detail-oriented and committed to providing exceptional service. This is a live-out, independent contractor position with long-term potential and the opportunity to grow into a full-time role with benefits .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals based on family preferences and dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free)
• Create weekly menus and shop for fresh groceries; submit receipts as requested
• Keep healthy snacks, smoothies, and light meals prepped and easily accessible
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen and pantry
• Dispose of expired food; clean the refrigerator, drawers, and trash bins daily
• Support household operations by coordinating with household staff and reporting kitchen needs
• Collaborate with the Principal and/or Family Assistant for special events and occasional entertaining
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of healthy, allergy-conscious cooking and sourcing high-quality ingredients
• Highly organized, discreet, and adaptable
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Fluent in English
• Able to pass a background check, including criminal and credit history (with written consent)
• Non-smoker
• Must have reliable transportation and live within a reasonable commuting distance to State College
• Proven experience as a private chef or in a similar private household role
• Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds
• Availability on weekends is essential; flexibility required when the family is traveling
