This position is part time and not benefit eligible

POSITION: Library Assistant K-7

JOB GOAL: To provide students with access to library resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Two years of college.
2. Basic understanding of child development.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the principal may find appropriate or acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Principal and K-7 Librarian

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Demonstrate ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality of student information.
2. Supervise and/or assist students and teachers in library usage.
3. Implement curricula in library skills as provided by the K-7 Librarian.
4. Provide books for teachers' classroom needs.
5. Maintain inventory of books and all other media.
6. Other duties as assigned by the principal or K-7 Librarian.

JOB ENVIRONMENT: K-7 Schools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Include frequent standing, walking, stooping, climbing


bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds; and possible exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases, depending on specific assignment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contract
