SEO Specialist (Full Time) Department : Ecommerce Homemakers Furniture is a leading home furnishings retailer committed to providing exceptional service and quality products. We are looking to expand our E-Commerce Department! The SEO Specialist will work Monday - Friday onsite at Homemakers in Urbandale, Iowa. Job Summary : As an SEO Specialist at Homemakers, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our online visibility and driving organic traffic to our ecommerce website. Your responsibilities include developing and executing comprehensive SEO strategies, creating and optimizing website content, and leveraging analytics tools to improve search engine rankings and LLM performance. You will ensure our products are easily discoverable, boosting customer engagement and conversions. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and expertise in technical and content-driven SEO practices to elevate our digital presence. Key Responsibilities : Conduct keyword research and analysis to identify high-value search terms for products and categories. Create and optimize website copy, including product descriptions, landing pages, and blog posts, aligning with SEO best practices and brand voice. Utilize AI tools to scale content creation efficiently while maintaining quality and relevance. Manage on-page SEO elements like meta tags, headers, alt text, internal linking, and structured data (e.g., product schema, breadcrumbs) to improve search visibility and rich snippets. Identify and resolve technical SEO issues, such as broken links, crawl errors, duplicate content, and page speed bottlenecks, to enhance site performance. Optimize site structure, including URL structures, internal linking, and XML sitemaps, to improve crawlability and indexability. Ensure the website complies with Google's mobile-first indexing, optimizing for mobile usability and Core Web Vitals. Use SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console) to monitor performance, track rankings, and identify opportunities. Develop and implement link-building strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks and improve domain authority. Perform competitor analysis to identify keyword, content, and backlink opportunities, adjusting strategies to stay competitive. Monitor website traffic, user behavior, and conversions, conducting A/B testing to optimize on-page elements and improve click-through rates. Education / Work Experience A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Qualifications : Proven experience in SEO strategy development and execution, preferably in e-commerce. Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or Moz. Strong understanding of keyword research, on-page and off-page SEO, and technical SEO. Familiarity with CMS, HTML/CSS, and schema markup for SEO. Excellent analytical skills for interpreting data and deriving insights. Ability to adapt to evolving SEO and LLM trends.
