Job Description
Overview:
We are a full service 3PL with over +40 years serving the DFW area. We are in need for a full time domestic dispatcher. Ensure timely, professional passage of shipments from shipper to consignee by assigning contracted carriers. Our company prides itself on creating a positive work environment and with a strong emphasis on team work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily operations of transportation including:
-Excellent negotiation skills, set up appointments/deliveries , customer service, ensuring that all operations meet mandated time frames and product delivery deadlines
-Tendering instructions for every truckload shipment (FTL). Handle less than truck load (LTL) shipments as required. Oversees handling of special shipments and blind shipments
-Direct contact with carrier dispatch and drivers
-Provides timely communication to customers and personnel on all aspects of shipment status
-Documentation of daily shipments with a log of time of arrival, time of load and time of shipping
- Create, update and close out all entries in the transportation management system
-Must be able to carry on a business conversation with business owners, dispatchers, and/or drivers
-Must provide and communicate all pertinent information to the entire team on any given load or situation with carrier. Via email, text, phone calls, anything needed to ensure customer satisfaction
-Able to file, fax, distribute incoming messages, prepare reports and organizing workflow
-Submit closed loads to billing dept. and make sure loads are correct.
-May perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Education and/or experience
High School Diploma required
2-3 yrs Brokerage, Freight Forwarder, 3PL experience in TL & LTL required
Working knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to brokering, shipping and receiving freight preferred
Knowledge of transportation documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills required
Able to work effectively with different departments
Exhibit professionalism and good attitude, proactive with the ability to multi task
This is a Mon-Fri operation but will require a rotating after hours/ weekend on call schedule
